Mental health is wealth
As a part of the youth, it is quite crucial to prioritize our physical and emotional health.
I grew up in a household where wellness is not promoted that much, which is alarming if you think about it.
My mother rarely asks how my day went or if I’m even doing well when it comes to academics.
Is it really that hard to ask your son/daughter how their day went? Is it too much to ask them how they are? Tell me, is this too much to ask for?
I know, it sounds like I’m being unreasonable or even ungrateful. But the thing is, parents need to realize that checking up on their children is so important. They have no idea how much it means to us to have their moral support. It feels so heartwarming to have parents that checks up on you, asks how your day went. It feels so great to know that there’s a shoulder you can lean on whenever you feel like the world is against you.
Dear parents, please be gentle with us. We don’t ask a lot, just your love and care. We ask for your support in this harsh, harsh world. Don’t be the reason why your kids don’t want to go to school. Don’t be the reason why they don’t feel safe enough to tell you their problems that have been such a burden for them. Please, just give us some love and care.
